Youth Red Cross

Youth Red Cross (YRC)

The Youth Red Cross at BGSCE is the youth wing of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), founded on the Seven Fundamental Principles that guide every member toward a lifelong commitment to humanitarian service.

YRC activities include training camps, health and hygiene awareness programmes, blood donation drives, environmental initiatives, and social awareness campaigns. Through these engagements, students develop leadership, compassion, teamwork, and a lifelong commitment to service.

The BGSCE YRC unit is affiliated to the IRCS Karnataka State Branch.

Affiliation & Fees: One-time affiliation fee of ₹1,500 to IRCS Karnataka State Branch. Annual YRC fee of ₹50 per student (₹35 retained by the college unit and ₹15 remitted to the IRCS State Branch).
Scholarships & Financial Aid

Scholarships & Financial Aid

BGSCE facilitates access to multiple government and institutional scholarship schemes so that deserving students can pursue teacher education without financial barriers.

Available Schemes

Students from SC/ST/OBC/PWD/371(J) and other reserved categories can access scholarships through the following channels:

  • State Scholarship Portal (SSP) — Government of Karnataka merit-based scholarships accessed through the official SSP portal each academic year.
  • NCTE Scholarships — Dedicated financial assistance for students pursuing teacher-education programmes.
  • Merit-Based Awards — Recognition and support for outstanding candidates demonstrating academic excellence.
Eligible students are encouraged to consult the college office for application guidance and to apply within the notified window each academic year.

On-campus first-aid with direct referral to AHRC, the multi-specialty ACU hospital, for advanced care.

Grievance Redressal

Grievance Redressal Process

A transparent, time-bound process ensures every student concern is heard, reviewed, and resolved fairly through clearly defined steps.

    Submit Complaint — Submit a written complaint to the Grievance Cell, detailing the concern clearly.

    Committee Review — The Grievance Cell reviews the complaint within 7 days of submission.

    Hearing — A hearing is scheduled with all involved parties to gather facts and perspectives.

    Resolution & Feedback — A fair resolution is issued and feedback is shared with the complainant.
  5. 5
    Escalation — If unresolved, the matter is escalated to the university grievance authority.
