Adichunchanagiri University’s contribution to sustainable development has been assessed internationally through the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026. The ranking evaluates universities based on their demonstrated contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, using evidence related to research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

These results reflect ACU’s documented activities and contributions across health and well-being, water and sanitation, renewable energy and institutional partnerships. The assessment also provides a framework for the University to strengthen evidence-based sustainability practices and further expand its contribution to the SDGs.

As part of its continuing environmental and sustainability initiatives, Adichunchanagiri University was awarded the “Platinum Sustainable Campus Partner” certificate under the Bharat Environment Program (BEP) 2026 during Earth Week 2026. The recognition was presented by the Research Heights Foundation, in association with the Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI).

The recognition acknowledges the University’s participation and institutional efforts towards environmental awareness, sustainable campus practices, student engagement and collective action for a greener, cleaner and climate-resilient future.
