Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) at BGS College of Education is a two-year professional teacher training programme aligned with the regulations of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The curriculum prepares aspiring student-teachers to become effective classroom educators at the secondary and higher secondary levels.

The programme balances rigorous pedagogical theory with hands-on school experience — including micro-teaching, lesson planning, ICT integration and an extended in-school internship. Student-teachers are trained to handle two teaching tracks: 6-8 and 9-10 standards for Bachelor's degree holders and 8-10 and 11-12 standards for Postgraduate qualified candidates.

Classes are delivered in English and Kannada medium, enabling graduates to serve diverse school settings across the state and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, BGSCE has trained over 1200 alumni who today teach in government and private schools, pursue higher studies, and contribute to educational research and administration.
