The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at BGS Institute of Technology (BGSIT) was established in 2005 with the B.E. programme. An M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems was introduced in 2010, and Ph.D. programmes are available in ECE — reflecting the department's growing research culture.
With state-of-the-art facilities including a Drone Centre of Excellence, IoT Centre of Excellence, and dedicated VLSI labs, students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies. The department holds NBA accreditation and maintains active professional body chapters through IEEE, IEI, and ISTE.
The department's curriculum integrates AI, IoT, VLSI, Embedded Systems, and Communication Technologies, supported by industry MoUs and structured internship pipelines — ensuring graduates are well-equipped for careers in both core electronics and emerging technology domains.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The BE Electronics and Communication Engineering program was established in 2005 with an initial intake of 60 students, increased to 120 in 2007 and 180 in 2021. The department introduced M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems in 2010. Both programs are under Adichunchanagiri University since 2018-19.
We have well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and a departmental library. Centres of Excellence in Drone Technology and IoT provide hands-on exposure. Technical clubs foster innovation and teamwork.
We run hackathons, coding contests, technical quizzes, seminars, paper presentations, and expert lectures to bridge academics and industry. Students also excel in cultural and sports activities.
I wish all our students and faculty members a rewarding academic journey and a bright future ahead.
