Established in 2005 under Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust — one of South India's most respected educational trusts with over six decades of service — BGSIT sits on a 21-acre, oxygen-rich campus in BG Nagar on NH-75, equidistant from Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, and Tumkur.
Initially affiliated with VTU Belagavi, BGSIT became a constituent college of Adichunchanagiri University in 2020, gaining greater autonomy in curriculum design, examination, and research collaboration.
“BGSIT is committed to the cause of creating tomorrow's engineers by providing quality education and inculcating ethical values.”— Institutional Vision Statement
BGSIT's pedagogical approach centres on three foundational commitments that guide every academic programme, research initiative, and co-curricular activity across the institution:

With over 30 years in academia, I have had the privilege of witnessing BGSIT's transformation from a nascent institution to one of Karnataka's most respected engineering colleges. Our journey has been guided by academic rigour and ethical grounding — values instilled by the Adichunchanagiri Math.
At BGSIT, engineering education extends beyond textbooks. Our IDEA Lab, satellite ground station, and advanced laboratories provide hands-on exposure from day one. I invite prospective students and their families to visit our campus and experience the academic culture that defines us.
