BGS College of Education was established in 2007 with affiliation to University of Mysore under Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust by Paramapoojya Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji. BGSCE is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and was accredited by NAAC in 2015.
The college became a Constituent College of Adichunchanagiri University in 2018. It aims to establish a global identity and produce quality teachers who can meet the demands of the modern world, enhance human and spiritual values, create better teachers of tomorrow, and establish itself as a national flagship institution.
In 2021 the college was awarded “Karnataka’s Best-20 Educational Institution” by Academic Insights. In 2023-24 the college received “Karnataka’s Top-3 Educational Institution”.
