Every mother and child deserves safe, compassionate, and skilled care. Our department trains students not just in the science of obstetrics, but in the art of supporting families through one of life's most transformative experiences. With our simulation labs and clinical postings at AHRC, students gain the confidence to handle both normal deliveries and high-risk situations.

Department Overview

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Nursing is dedicated to maternal-child health, reproductive health, high-risk pregnancy management, labour care, and neonatal care. Students learn the full spectrum of midwifery — from antenatal assessment and normal labour management to handling obstetric emergencies and postpartum care.

The department is notably the home department of the Principal, Prof. Victoria Sarvand, who brings her extensive OBG expertise to the institution’s leadership. Students receive training in B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc, and M.Sc in OBG Nursing, with clinical postings at the AHRC OBG ward and labour room.
