Overview

The Department of Paediatrics at BGS Medical College & Hospital builds future child health through quality care, outstanding research, and meaningful community partnerships. The department prevents disease and promotes healthy lifestyles for children, delivering efficient, cost-effective care during both wellness and illness periods.

Highly qualified, experienced, and well-trained faculty manage neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across the MBBS and postgraduate programmes (MD and DCH), with specialised exposure to NICU, PICU, and dedicated high-risk clinics.

The department combines dedicated inpatient capacity with specialised high-risk clinics and modern teaching infrastructure to deliver complete child health services.

Inpatient Capacity

75 beds across multiple paediatric units with dedicated PICU and NICU beds for critical paediatric and neonatal care.

High-Risk Clinics

High-risk child clinic and child development guidance clinic designed for early detection of developmental disabilities and timely intervention.

Modern Teaching Aids

Modern teaching aid facilities in every classroom, seminar room, and demonstration room supporting case-based and bedside learning.

Academic Programme
Teaching & Training

The Department of Paediatrics employs highly qualified, experienced, and well-trained faculty managing neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. The MBBS and postgraduate programmes (MD and DCH) cover paediatric emergency medicine, neonatal intensive care, paediatric intensive care, developmental paediatrics, and high-risk child management.
