About the Department
Overview

The Department of Psychiatry at BGS Medical College & Hospital is committed to creating optimum mental health awareness among the adjoining rural community while providing comprehensive, stigma-free mental health services. The department aspires to be a premier tertiary centre fostering academic, clinical, and research activities.

Through specialised clinics for de-addiction, women's mental health, child psychiatry, geriatric memory care, and student counselling, the department combines compassionate care with academic rigour and innovative teaching methodology.

Vision

Mission

Organise periodic awareness and outreach programmes on psychiatric disorders. Establish specialised clinics addressing addiction, geriatric care, sexual disorders, and student counselling. Guide undergraduates toward academic excellence and research. Develop postgraduate courses and allied mental health programmes.

EEG & Biofeedback

Dedicated EEG & biofeedback room for diagnostic neurophysiology, biofeedback therapy, and academic demonstrations.

Privacy-Ensuring Cabins

Consultation cabins designed for patient privacy, demonstration room for academic activities, and resourceful library with extensive collections.
