Clinical Services
Services & Care

The department delivers comprehensive obstetric and gynaecologic care, supported by dedicated subspecialty services and recognised public health programmes.

Comprehensive Obstetric Care

Antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care including labour room services, caesarean sections, and dedicated OBG ICU support.

Gynaecological Services

Routine gynaecological care, hysterectomies, laparoscopic surgical capabilities, infertility treatment, and subspecialty services.

PPTC, VCTC & HIV Training

Prevention of Parent-to-Child Transmission (PPTC) HIV-AIDS services, Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centre, and recognised HIV training centre designation.

Academic Programme
Teaching & Training

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology engages undergraduates through 2-month departmental rotations combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Postgraduate residents develop expertise through hands-on experience with complex procedures and specialised subspecialty training.

  • 2-month MBBS rotations with theory and practical skills
  • Labour room placements with supervised procedural experience
  • PG hands-on training in caesarean sections and hysterectomies
  • Subspecialty training in maternal-fetal medicine, gynaecologic oncology, infertility, urogynaecology
  • Obstetric ultrasound and skill laboratory training
  • Ethical practice, history-taking, diagnostic reasoning, comprehensive management
