Vice Chancellor

Dr. M. A. Shekar is an accomplished professional in the medical field, holding the position of Vice Chancellor at Adichunchanagiri University, B.G. Nagara. His education background includes an M.B.B.S. degree from 1981 and an M.D. (Internal Medicine) from 1985, both from Government Medical College, Mysore. He further advanced his qualifications with an FRCP from Edinburgh in 2019.

Dr. Shekar has a rich professional history, including key roles such as Founder and Diabetologist at Apoorva Diabetes Foundation, Director at Karnataka Institute of Endocrinology & Research, and Dean at Government Dental College & Research Institute. His tenure as Director of Medical Education (VC) and Director & Dean at Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute is notable. As Head of the Department of Endocrinology at Mysore Medical College & Research Institute, he has contributed significantly to the field.
