About the Department

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at BGS Institute of Technology (BGSIT) was established in 2005 with an initial intake of 60 students. Today it has grown to an intake of 300 students per year — one of Karnataka's largest and most sought-after CSE departments. The programme is NBA-accredited (valid through 2027) and the institution holds NAAC A+ accreditation (2024).

With state-of-the-art infrastructure including the IDEA Innovation Lab, dedicated AI & ML workstations, and a Cyber Security centre, students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies from day one.

The department actively engages with industry through MoUs with global technology leaders, structured internship pipelines, and a curriculum co-designed with recruiters — ensuring graduates are immediately job-ready.
