ACU Student Policy —
Training & Placements (2026)

Section 1

Preamble & Purpose

The Training & Placement Cell of Adichunchanagiri University is committed to ensuring a transparent, structured, and student-centric placement process. This policy is framed to guide students in maintaining discipline, professionalism, and active participation in all placement-related activities.

  • Ensure fair and equal placement opportunities for all students
  • Enhance student employability through structured, mandatory training
  • Maintain professional standards during the recruitment process
  • Align with UGC norms and evolving industry expectations under NEP 2020
Sections 3 & 4

Scope & Student Registration

This policy applies to all UG, PG, and professional program students enrolled at Adichunchanagiri University and registered with the Training & Placement Cell.

Portal Registration is Mandatory. Only students registered on the Placement Portal are eligible for training programs, internship opportunities, and campus placements.
Section 5

Eligibility Criteria

Students must satisfy all of the following conditions to be eligible to participate in campus recruitment activities:

Maintain a minimum of 75% attendance across all enrolled courses.

Successfully complete all mandatory training programs as prescribed by the T&P Cell.

Have no active disciplinary issues under review by the university.
4
Fulfill any company-specific eligibility criteria communicated during the Pre-Placement Talk.
Section 6

Training Requirements

All registered students are required to attend and complete the following training modules. Non-participation may result in placement ineligibility.

  • Aptitude & Logical Reasoning — quantitative, verbal, and analytical reasoning
  • Soft Skills & Communication — professional English, business communication
  • Resume Building Workshops — crafting ATS-ready resumes and LinkedIn profiles
  • Mock Interviews & Group Discussions — simulated recruitment environments
  • Technical / Domain-Specific Training — programming, AI/ML, cloud, full stack, data science, and more (see training programs)
Non-completion of any mandatory training module without prior written approval from the T&P Cell may result in suspension from the placement process.
Section 7

Placement Process

The standard campus recruitment process follows a structured sequence. Students must be present and prepared at each stage:

Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) — company overview, eligibility criteria, role expectations

Aptitude / Technical Test — written or online assessment as per company requirements

Group Discussion / Case Study — evaluates communication, teamwork, and analytical thinking

Technical Interview — domain knowledge, problem-solving, coding/design
5
HR Interview — cultural fit, salary expectations, joining timelines
6
Offer Letter — formal offer issued; student must respond within the specified deadline
Section 8

One Job Policy

ACU follows a structured one-job policy designed to ensure equitable opportunity for all students and to maintain the university's relationship with recruiting companies.

  • Each student is initially eligible for one job offer through the T&P Cell.
  • A student may participate in additional recruitment drives only if they are targeting a Dream or Super Dream classified company.
  • Students who have already received and accepted an offer from a Standard company are not eligible to appear for other Standard company drives.
  • Students must notify the T&P Cell immediately upon receiving any offer letter.
Section 9

Salary Classification

Campus recruitment opportunities are classified into three tiers based on offered compensation:

₹3 – ₹6 LPA
Standard Tier
₹6 – ₹10 LPA
Dream Companies
₹10+ LPA
Super Dream

Students who have accepted a Standard offer may still apply to Dream and Super Dream companies. Students with Dream offers may still apply to Super Dream companies.

Sections 10, 11 & 12

Code of Conduct & Penalties

Students are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct throughout all placement activities.

Students Must:

  • Maintain a formal dress code on all placement days
  • Be punctual — arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time
  • Follow all instructions from the Placement Cell without question
  • Exhibit professional behaviour with recruiters at all times
  • Direct all recruiter communication exclusively through the T&P Cell

Prohibited Activities:

  • Skipping interviews or assessments after registering — without prior written notice
  • Providing false information in resumes or during interviews
  • Indiscipline, disruptive behaviour, or misconduct at any placement event
  • Direct, unsolicited communication with recruiters outside the placement process
Penalties: Violations may result in temporary debarment from the current recruitment cycle, permanent removal from the placement process, and/or formal disciplinary action by the university under its student conduct regulations.
Section 13

Internship Policy

Internships are a compulsory component of all programs at ACU and are facilitated through the T&P Cell.

  • Students must complete industry-based internships as assigned or approved by the T&P Cell
  • An internship report must be submitted within the deadline specified by the department
  • Students must attend a formal viva / evaluation assessed by faculty and industry mentors
  • Non-compliance with internship requirements will reflect on final grade transcripts
Sections 15 & 16

Equal Opportunity & Grievance Redressal

ACU is committed to providing equal placement opportunities to all eligible students regardless of gender, caste, religion, or socio-economic background.

Students who experience any issues or have concerns related to the placement process may raise them through the following channels:

  • Department Placement Coordinator (first point of contact)
  • Training & Placement Cell — placements@acu.edu.in
  • University Grievance Cell (for unresolved matters)
All grievances will be treated with confidentiality and addressed within 5 working days of submission.
Section 19 — Student Undertaking

Declaration & Undertaking

Every student participating in the T&P Cell's activities must sign the following undertaking before their first placement activity of the academic year:

"I hereby declare that I have read and understood the Training & Placement Policy of Adichunchanagiri University (2026 edition) and agree to abide by all rules, regulations, and guidelines stated therein. I understand that any violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action including debarment from the placement process."
